Workshops 2022

After a few years without running workshop, due to both the pandemic, but also the desire to take stock, rethink and rearrange how we ran our workshop that we’ve been hosting for over eight years, we couldn't be more excited to finally open the doors and pack our bags for our new Italy workshop!

Matera, Italy

25-27th of October, 2022

Three full days with accommodation, all meals, drinks, cookery classes and art gallery entries etc included.

Airfare and transportation is not included.

Matera holds a warms spot in our hearts ever since we first discovered this incredible hilltop town, with cave dwellings from 9000 years ago, and hosted a workshop here fours years ago. We’ve been yearning to return to share this fantastic place with you again.

It’s simply an incredible area, with a rich food culture, extraordinary landscape and views, with the added bonus of wonderful art to both capture and be inspired by.

We will be staying at our favourite cave hotel, Sextantio with rooms carved into the hillside, it offers a unique starting point and perspective into exploring this exciting town.

Sextantio will serve as our home away from home for the workshop, and since we’ve been working with the team there for more than four workshops now, we’ve come to consider them friends, which really does make all the difference.

With daily food classes by local nonnas, cocktail and local wine tasting sessions with Theo, and wanders through town to our favourite trattorias for lunch and dinner, you won’t go hungry, and hopefully learn a thing or two about local wine, spirits and how to become a decent home mixologist!

Photography wise, we will have daily stillife sessions with me, where we’ll dive deep into what I consider to be the three most important areas of photography, light, composition and storytelling.

We begin after breakfast around 10 am everyday, and end after dinner.

Should you wish to arrive the day before the workshop and stay the night after out last farewell dinner and cocktail party, please just let us know and we’ll put you directly in contact with the hotel so you can book this.

We chose to release this workshop a year in advance to make sure to give you time to plan, and organise in this rather special time.

Should you wish to bring a partner, friend or family member who wants to join you but not for the photography accept of the workshop, you can do so at a reduced rate while sharing a room.

The reduced rate of shared accommodation, includes all meals and drinks, including Theo’s cocktail and wine sessions.

Our workshops are non refundable to avoid frivolous bookings and to avoid confusion with so many moving bits  and people involved, however should you need to we rearrange, we are more than happy to rebook you to another workshop at another time. This option is always available to you, as we know that circumstances can change.
