Mud, moss and greens, and being ready for a new year

It’s indeed lovely outside and I do not mind one bit that winter forgot to arrive, yet.

I mean sooner or later it will remember to blow cold winds our way filled to the brim with beautiful snow and ice.

But as for now, it’s been lazy and are no doubt caught up in a snowball fight on the north pole.

So I wander with my trusted Hunter boots in mud, widening my nostrils and inhaling wonderful wet dirt and green. It’s the best perfume in the world!

If you’ve forgotten how great ths smell of nature is, head on outside right after it’s been raining and inhale clean fresh air.

All the plants are dancing at this point and delivers as promised natures purest and greenest perfume.

It’s heaven, really;)

Today is the time to live, and I keep being reminded of fleeting hours of the day.

A dear friend of mine shared with me this inspiring article right before this old year ends.

I must say I’m a bit over-eager for this year to end and for a brand spanking new one to arrive.

Like Charles Dicken’s so famously wrote as an opening line to the ‘Tale of two cities’, this year has been...” the best of times and the worst of times…”.

Every new day, or hour for that matter, is of course a chance to start fresh, to change our ways, pursue our dreams, forgive and ask for forgiveness.

But a brand spanking new year adds a bit of a drum roll to the whole aspect of starting fresh don’t you think?

I love new beginnings, starting fresh and with guts and guile pursue the dreams of the heart.

However, to me, new beginnings does not mean escaping the old, rather building on what we have, and  daring to stand still and not take the road of least resistance.

This is hard to do, but the reward is of such character -building beauty that it’s hard to pass up.

And if we do not manage to actually stand still, but rather roll, lay underneath the blankets, sit with jittery legs or less than graciously tumble through it all, at least we tried, and did our best, and thats really all we can do, and then do it again, non?

But whatever you do, don’t forget to lean down and smell the ground the next time it rains. It’s the smell of pure new beginnings, of soaking up all you can from the rain and start fresh.

It’s one of the most beautiful things in life, to be able to start again!

When we take the road of least resistance and shortcuts, we won’t find what we’re looking for and we won’t learn what we need to to become the most wonderful you.

And we all have a wonderful us, tucked inside.

This year I’ll learn a bit from the inspiring article my dear friend Jannicke shared with me and I’ll choose to focus of this part:

Mistakes are okay; they’re the stepping stones of progress.

If you’re not failing from time to time, you’re not trying hard enough and you’re not learning.

Take risks, stumble, fall, and then get up and try again.

Appreciate that you are pushing yourself, learning, growing and improving.

Significant achievements are almost invariably realized at the end of a long road of failures.

The year ahead is the year of adventure where all bets are off.

It’s like the magic of a monsoon wind sweeping through our lives, anything can happen, really;)

Are you ready for a bit of adventure?

I know I am:)

Happy New year!
