Sweets of the day: Apricot rolls

After a fun week in Santa Monica we’re finally home, and the first thing I did was pay the kitchen a visit.

Even as much as I love eating out and exploring different culinary styles and dishes, I just love making food in my own kitchen!

So upon our return I felt a bit in need of some homemade sweets and used this Norwegian sweet-roll recipe, rolled the dough out with a rolling pin, spread some homemade apricot jam from American boy’s mother evenly, rolled it all up in a long sausage and cut it in finger thick slices, et voila!

(Bakes at 400F  for 10-14 min)

Delicious and warm apricot rolls were born.

I also made some with blueberry jam, and some more traditional cinnamon rolls from the same dough.

I think there’s nothing that creates the smell of home more than sweet baked goods that fills a home with the most comforting aroma.

The doors were open, the spring sun made the outside blossom. The birds were singing and the kitchen smelled like heaven, even if the rolls didn’t turn out as fluffy as I’d expect it was a great afternoon in the kitchen;)

These look delicious! Anyone know where I can buy these online??? I have an obsession with anything apricot! I found a bakery that makes the large rolls and cookies. http://www.buttermaidbakery.com . I would like to try these though.
