I’m a wee bit shy about showing you these.
But yesterday I found lots of small things that inspired me to style a petite spring series.
I’ve been wanting to style food around a book with botanical illustrations.
So when I came across this great Chinese painting illustrations book in a small flea-market yesterday, I rushed over to my local grocery store to pick up some fruit and styled away.
The best part about styling shoots like this is the nibbling in between.
As soon as I’m done shooting one type of food I nibble a bit before I move on to the next.
That’s actually how I live my life in general.
After a bit of work, a bit of nibbling is on the agenda.
My beloved mother, as I’ve mentioned before, is always on the lookout for those small happinesses that create a good life, I on the other hand eat them;)
Like the delicious gooseberries below!
If you want to see more go here and here for other posts about food.
Have a great Sunday!

Love it!!! So, so pretty. I’ve been looking for the perfect illustrated botanical book…love what you found. AND I have those same milk glasses…love them.
Fantastic styling, Marie! You had a vision. And in my humble opinion, the best visions are also edible.
@ Ann and Kiera: Soo glad you girls enjoyed! I 100% agree, the best ideas are indeed edible;)
You’ve done it again…….brought a little sentimental glisten to my eye and a big toothy smile along with it. Please thank your mother for enjoying those small happinesses because in doing so she raised an inspiring, artistic, warm & talented woman. I’m nibbling my way through a quiet Saturday morning, taking photos of my beautiful new bike & now lounging in a coffee shop as I draw and read inspiring blogs, feeling so appreciative of small happinesses and those that appreciate them along with me. Lovely you!
@ Britt: You make me tear up too now;) How sweet. I’ll for sure ket my beloved mother know. Being able to appreciate and find small happinesses in our everyday lives is a great quality to have, it seems you have it too Britt;) Wish I could give you a big hug!
