The above image is the cover of a book I’ve tweeted about before.
A book I am dying to own, and today I think it’s a great day for telling you a bit more about the book, and the author.
Leslie Williams is a photographer from San Jose, California and ‘is currently residing on a foggy hill in San Francisco’, as she writes on her bio page.
It’s her passion for art, design and photography that led her to making the book she released in the fall of 2010 called Handcrafted modern.
I first saw this book in a window of a design book store downtown San Francisco on a Sunday afternoon stroll.
I snapped a shot with my iphone and felt a big smile spread across my face as this looked like a book after mine own heart.
Leslie Williams has traveled to many of her favorite artists, some known and others lesser known, and photographed their home and workspace.
And the book is such a stunner!
These peaks into artisans home, to see their studios, their tools, and what surrounds them daily is so inspiring!!
Each of her photos is art I’d like in my home, not just enjoying in the book!
And if you like them as much as I, she’s currently showing her photos at Heath Ceramic’s studio in Sausalito, a short skip and a hop from San Francisco, so I guess dreams do come true;)
Do visit her blog to learn more about her current projects and her portfolio for some great Monday inspiration.
Happy Monday, and I hope you enjoyed yesterdays Castle Gibson!
And stay tuned for tomorrows guest post on Far Fetchers!
