Love, leather and lots more

For a week or two ago I came across a leather-goods brand that just blew me away.

I fell in love, with the story behind the brand, the goods, the place and the way it was all done. But then I emailed them to hear if it was ok to feature them on my blog, and that’s when I knew that my infatuation with this brand was here to stay. The personal and warm tone of  our correspondence turned the hunch that I had come across something really cool with quality into an assurance that that was indeed the case.

How can I be so sure of this?

Oh, come on. Take a look at this and be prepared to fall in love for life.

In this place, two people fell in love. He from Brazil and she from London. He knew how to work magic with leather and she a photographer. Together they started the leather-goods brand Nivaldo de Lima.

In this place, an island in the mediterranean they have created a perfect getaway.

Their goods are all handmade, and are the kind of goods you merely look after for the next generation. And I could not agree more when they say; “The emphasis on the label is style rather than fashion.” But oh how this stylish brand is exactly the thing fashion needs.

Come take a look at how its all done.

If you feel like I am taking you in the back door, since I have yet to show you the goods, you are absolutely right. But look at it this way, I am merely politely introducing you.

Today so many things are done in haste, with little thought to the environment, the workers, the surrounding, atmosphere or the quality of the finals goods. Things are not made to last. But goods from Nivaldo de Lima is. I do speak like I am the proud owner of a bag or two. Sadly I am not, yet, but make no mistake it is on top of my list of things to invest in in 2010.

So, now that you have been backstage to help you appreciate how these goods are made.

Here’s the goods.

I love the simplicity.

The fact that these goods get better with age, and that you can fit all your essentials in them. I never was big on sassy small fashion purses. This to me is the perfect classy carry on.

Here’s some more.

Are you craving more?

Head on over here.
